Thompson propels Washburn

WASHBURN – Jason Thompson, Chris Pesut and Zach Bird each recorded a double-double Friday night as the Beavers notched a key 68-64 schoolboy basketball victory over Central Aroostook.

Thompson finished with a game-high 25 points and 13 rebounds, Pesut racked up 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Zach Bird ended up with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Bryan Grew sparked the Panthers of Mars Hill with 16 points and Jason Woodworth added 15.
