HANOVER, N.H. – Former Maine high school athletes made an impressive showing at the one-mile racewalk at the Dartmouth Relays Saturday. University of Wisconsin at Parkside sophomore Ben Shorey, who attended Ellsworth High School, finished second with a time of 6 minutes, 21.39 seconds.

HANOVER, N.H. – Former Maine high school athletes made an impressive showing at the one-mile racewalk at the Dartmouth Relays Saturday.

University of Wisconsin at Parkside sophomore Ben Shorey, who attended Ellsworth High School, finished second with a time of 6 minutes, 21.39 seconds.

Jon Chasse of UWP, formerly of Maranacook High School in Readfield, came in fourth at 7:17.91. Mark Dennett a senior of Winthrop High School, finished sixth, 7:52.61; Patrick Scott a senior from Massabesic High School placed ninth, 7:59.65; and Mt. Blue of Farmington junior Aaron Whitten finished 10th, 8:41.72.

UWP sophomore Anne Favolise of Narraguagus in Harrington won for the women with a time of 7:28, edging out Jasmine Brooks, a senior at Dirigo High School, who paced a 7:45.95. Carly Lochala of Mt. Blue placed fourth at 8:27 and Tenee Fortin of North Yarmouth Academy was next at 8:55.65.
