Woodland senior Kati Holmes has been named the Gatorade Maine High School Volleyball Player of the Year after leading the Dragons to a state championship.

Holmes had 193 kills, 67 service aces, 37 digs, 23 assists, and 12 blocks en route to becoming one of the 50 honorees nationwide. Holmes, who maintains a “B” average and also plays basketball and softball, is a finalist for Gatorade’s national volleyball player of the year award, which will be announced Jan. 28.
