Stevens, Gray key Raiders victory

WOODLAND – Whitney Stevens had 13 of his 32 points in the third period and Jared Gray contributed 10 of his 26 as the Washington Academy Raiders of East Machias built a nine-point lead and held off a Woodland rally for a 91-87 schoolboy basketball victory Wednesday night.

James Ramsdell and Ryan Harmon combined for 23 Washington Academy points to complement Stevens and Gray.

Chad Pike’s 29 points led Woodland. Jesse Nicholson added 16, Weston Kochendoerfer had 14 and Billy Smith and Andrew Scott scored 13 apiece.
