EAST MACHIAS – Sadie Beardsworth connected for a game-high 16 points Thursday night as George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill escaped with a 49-47 double-overtime schoolgirl basketball victory over Washington Academy.

Brandi Winters scored 13 points for George Stevens Academy.

Krystal Stauffer paced Washington Academy with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Her basket at the buzzer had sent the game into overtime.
