Peters carries Hornets Late layup beats Van Buren

ASHLAND – Ashlee Peters hit a driving layup with 20 seconds left in the game Saturday to give the Ashland girls’ basketball team a 40-39 win over Van Buren.

Peters finished with nine points, as did Amber Smith. Ashley Nemer led Ashland with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Michelle Parent sparked the Crusaders with 15 points, and Danielle Gagnon added 10.
