GREENVILLE – The Department of Human Services, Office of Rural Health and Primary Care, recently awarded Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home an $18,500 grant to support emergency medical services.

The grant will fund training for C.A. Dean’s EMTs and paramedics to maintain its license according to the Maine EMS board. In addition, it also will allow the hospital to upgrade the skill of its current ambulance crew members, as well as send new and interested candidates to school for their licensed credentials.

C. A. Dean’s ambulance crew serves one of the largest, most vast and sparsely populated service delivery areas in the state with 15 active volunteers.
