All Saints School

BANGOR – All Saints Catholic School will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week Jan. 24-Feb. 2 with an open house and kindergarten registration 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.

A curriculum fair will be held 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the St. Mary’s campus, 768 Ohio St.; and 7:15-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the St. John’s campus, 166 State St. Individual class and student projects will be displayed. For information, call Principal Marcia Diamond at 947-7063.

Hampden Academy

HAMPDEN – Richard Newcomb seeks Hampden Academy alumni to help plan the school’s 200th anniversary celebration set for next summer. A meeting for volunteers will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Hampden Academy library. For information, call Newcomb at 561-4109 during the day or 862-3633, evenings.

Hampden DARE

HAMPDEN – The Hampden DARE Parent Committee will sponsor the DARE Family Affair spaghetti supper 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Weatherbee School. Tickets are available at Schacht’s True Value Hardware or at the door. The cost for adults is $5, children $2.50, families $15. Donations may be sent to: Hampden DARE Parent Committee, P.O. Phillips Exeter Academy

EXETER, N.H. – Cristina Domnisoru of Old Town, a student at Phillips Exeter, is a semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search, one of 300 students who will receive $1,000 in recognition of scientific achievement. In addition, her school will receive $1,000 to support its math and science program.

The Intel Science Talent Search provides an incentive for U.S. high school seniors to complete an original project and have it evaluated by a national jury of scientists.

Veazie Community School

VEAZIE – Kindergarten registration and screening will be held Thursday and Friday, March 6-7, at the Veazie Community School, for children who will be 5 on or before Oct. 15. Registration is by appointment only. Parents must bring the child, birth certificate and immunization records. For information, call 947-6573.

Water education workshop

ORONO – Healthy Water, Healthy People, a workshop for middle and high school science teachers, will be held 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the University of Maine. John Etgen of Project Water Education for Teachers, a national and international water science and education program, will conduct the free workshop. Etgen is director of the Healthy Water, Healthy People program, based at Montana State University.

The workshop, which includes lunch, is limited to 30 teachers, who must pre-register by calling 581-3107. Participants will receive a copy of the newly published “Healthy Water, Healthy People Quality Educators Guide.”

Funded by the Maine Math Science Teaching Excellence Collaborative at the University of Maine, the workshop is co-sponsored by the Mitchell Center for Environmental and Watershed Research and the College of Education and Human Development.

Maine Maritime Academy

CASTINE – Adam Crossman has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester. An international business and logistics major, he is the son of Bev and Tim Stone of Glenburn and Kim Crossman of Orrington.

New England School of Communications

BANGOR – Tabitha Lindsey, Michael Rancourt and Jen Wilbur of Hermon; Paul Richardson and Adam Lenfest of Hampden; and Dan Schwartz of Bangor achieved high honors for the fall semester at NESCOM.

Achieving honors were Jaime Alley, Justin Fowler and Antonio Williams of Bangor; Adam Carlow and Amanda Oechslie of Brewer; Kristina Garcelon and Kathleen Hutchinson of Hermon; Melanie Bean of Corinth; Kristopher McCall of Carmel and Matthew Bailey of Bradford.

Saint Anselm College

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Stuart E. Cooper of Bangor was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Saint Anselm College. A junior, he is the son of John and Carol Cooper of Bangor.

Stonehill College

EASTON, Mass. – Katherine Ziemer of Holden has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester.
