PORTLAND – The Downeaster train will begin making regular weekend stops at the University of New Hampshire station in Durham, N.H., this weekend, officials said Thursday.
The Boston-to-Portland train currently stops in Durham only on weekdays, and town and school officials asked the Northern New England Rail Authority to expand the service.
Rail officials also said passengers will no longer be able to board the first southbound Downeaster train in Durham on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, due to insufficient parking at the school.
