Chrisos hits 1,000th as BC rolls by Lee PCHS, Hermon record wins

BANGOR – David Chrisos scored his 1,000th career point for Bangor Christian and finished with 15 in the game to help the Patriots beat the Lee Academy Pandas 81-45 in schoolboy basketball action Saturday at Husson College’s Newman Gym.

Chrisos, a senior guard, returned to the Patriots this season after being involved in a car accident last season and missing the tournament. After the accident he was in intensive care for two weeks, but inspired his team to win the regional title.

He totaled 120 points in his freshman season, 378 as a sophomore and 305 as a junior.

Josh Madden scored 18 points with 10 rebounds for the Patriots to help beat Lee. Anthony Cole scored 14 points and Greg Patterson added 10.

Josh Michaud netted nine points for Lee Academy.

Greg Whitaker made a free throw to put Presque Isle up by four with four seconds left. Karl James scored 21 points for the Wildcats. Fred Bird netted 19 points and Kyle Rideout had 12 points with nine rebounds.

Hayden scored 24 points for Nokomis. Ryan McLellan had 14 points and Chris Dunlop added 13.

Chris Gay scored off of a Jesse Jean assist at 8:24 into the third. Casey Tuttle stopped 24 of 26 shots for 5-7 Cony of Augusta.

At Sawyer Arena, Bangor, Ben Tondreau scored the game-winning goal for Winthrop/Hall-Dale at 22 seconds into the third with an assist from Sam Frost.

Tondreau also scored another goal and Shawn Feeney scored a goal and Adam Beal had an assist. Brandon Ellis made 22 saves on 24 shots for 7-5 Win-Dale.

Mike Freese scored a goal and made an assist for Foxcroft Academy. Adam Conway scored a goal and Seth Gabarro had an assist. Dan Perkins stopped 31 of 34 shots for 2-9 Foxcroft Academy.

Hampden 7, Orono 1

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Chris Bearor scored three goals to help power 10-2 Hampden past Orono.

Kevin Brooks added two goals for the Broncoas while Chris Pease tallied three assists. Adams Standley and Steve Boutin each had a goal while Garrett Macgowan and Camden Murray stopped 10 of 11 shots.

Tom Smyth scored Orono’s goal with an assist from John Tuell while Keith Kedrick made 33 saves on 40 shots for the 4-9 Red Riots.

Houlton-Hodgdon 5, Kents Hill 3

At Millar Arena in Houlton, Jared Sylvia tallied two goals and Kevin Carton had two assists to lead the 12-3 Black Hawks to the win.

Grady Anderson had a goal and an assist for Houlton-Hodgdon. Tyler Hutchinson and Andy Clark added a goal apiece. Mitch Hall, Chris Bither and Ben Carton each had an assist and Nic Joslyn stopped 20 of 23 shots.

Zac Jacques paced the 4-5 Huskies with two goals and Matt Daugherty added a goal and an assist. Tavis Hasenfus made 48 saves on 53 shots.
