Holly Gracie

Holly Gracie, a guard for the Husson College women’s basketball team has been named the Webber Energy rookie of the week and Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association rookie of the week. Gracie averaged 18 points and four assists per game in a two-game week.

Tiffany Jones

Tiffany Jones of the University of Southern Maine has been chosen as the Little East Conference rookie of the week as well as the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association rookie of the week. Jones averaged 22.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in two games. This is her sixth LEC rookie award of the season and her third time sharing the state award.

Randy Fletcher, Gary Dussard

Randy Fletcher of Husson and Gary Dussard of the University of Maine at Machias have been selected as Webber Energy co-player of the week. Fletcher, a senior center, scored 33 points in a win over St. Joseph’s and averaged 27.5 points and 11 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Dussard, a sophomore guard scored 32 points in a game against Thomas.

Bartas Samaitis

Bartas Samaitis of the University of Maine at Fort Kent has been chosen as the Webber Energy of the Week. Samaitis averaged 25 points in two games and scored 30 in a win over College of St. Joseph’s.

Nick Pelotte

Nick Pelotte, a sophomore guard at Plymouth State has been selected as the Little East Conference player of the week. Pelotte, a former Valley standout, averaged 28.5 points, six rebounds and three assists per game, scoring 30 points in a win over USM and 27 in a win over UMass-Dartmouth.

Peter Ferraro

Peter Ferraro, a right wing for the Portland Pirates, has been named the Sher-Wood American Hockey League player of the week. Ferraro scored two goals and had an assist in a win over Manchester including his 200th goals of his career. He also scored two goals and tallied four assists in a 7-4 Win over Providence.
