BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

DANNY WHITE

A senior shooting guard on the Foxcroft Academy boys’ basketball team, White averaged 19 points per game, four rebounds and four assists in four wins for the Ponies. Foxcroft Academy plays basketball in Class B.

Small School (Classes C-D)

RANDY BRIGGS

Briggs, a sophomore on the Foxcroft Academy wrestling team, won the 171-pound championship at the Penobscot Valley Championships. Briggs win by pin also gave the Ponies their first PVC team title since 1982. Foxcroft Academy wrestles in Class C.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

JESSIE WIGGIN

The Hermon senior guard scored 90 points during a Hawks’ four-game win streak, an average of 22.5 points per game. Hermon, which started the season 1-6, is now 8-7.

Small School (Classes C-D)

MARANDA BUTLER

The 5-foot-9 senior made eight steals and converted her last one into the game-winning basket in a stunning and point-worthy 43-41 upset win over Hodgdon on Tuesday.
