WASHINGTON – Rep. Michael H. Michaud announced Thursday that he is in the process of sending information packets on prescription drug patient assistance programs to the unions of Great Northern Paper as well as area town halls.

The directories include information on more than 50 pharmaceutical assistance programs that provide discounted or free prescription medicines to qualified patients. The packets include eligibility requirements and application information as well as a list of products that are covered in each plan.

“The various prescription plans available may provide much-needed assistance for those who have abruptly found themselves without prescription coverage,” Michaud said. “I strongly urge the creditors of Great Northern to provide funding for employee health insurance, absent of that however, we must look to any and all avenues for assistance.”

Additional copies of the directories are available by calling (800) 762-4636 or on the Internet at http://
