DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Caribou girls basketball team got 17 points from Leah Drew and good defense late to earn a 54-48 victory over Foxcroft Saturday in high school action.

The Ponies were down 12 points with four minutes left and cut their deficit to three with four minutes left, but the Vikings held them scoreless in their last seven possessions to negate the rally.

Monica Selander added 12 points for Caribou. Lindsay Burlock had nine points and 13 rebounds.

Sandy Haskell led the Ponies with 11 points and Ashley Hall added 10.

At T.J. Ryan Arena in Brewer, Bronco goalie Garrett Macgowan made 21 saves on 22 shots to keep the Tigers from rallying after Hampden scored two early goals in the win.

Adam Standley knocked in both goals for the 12-2 Broncos in the first period. Ian Lee and Standley’s brother Chris combined for assists on Adam Standley’s eventual game-winner.

Shawn Kelly scored a third-period goal for 10-6 Gardiner. Spencer Lahaie made 29 saves on 31 shots.

At Hodgdon, Kevin Sanford scored 10 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Hawks pulled away from the Eagles.

Jimmy Griffin also scored 14 points for Hodgdon. Derek Nickerson and Jeff Condon added 10 points apiece.

Andrew Pelletier and Joey Cote each scored 19 points for Limestone. Cote made five 3-pointers.
