BANGOR – Holly Gracie tossed in 16 points and tallied six steals to help the Husson College Braves beat the UMaine-Presque Isle Owls 61-53 in women’s basketball action at Newman Gym Saturday.
The Braves picked up their second straight win on Sunday when they beat the UM-Fort Kent Bengals 56-41.
Husson’s Liz Boone scored 13 points and had nine rebounds in Saturday’s game. Sarah Davis and Shauna Mullenix each contributed 10 points.
Erica McGary netted a game-high 19 points to go with nine rebounds for the Owls. Kelly Socoby put in 14 points and Rachel Larlee scored 12.
Gracie’s 15 points propelled the Braves past the Bengals in Sunday’s game.
Boone and Mullenix each chipped in with 12 points for Husson. Sarah Davis had eight points and seven rebounds.
Heidi Fisher had a team-best 14 points for UMFK and Jessica Noyes added 13. Fisher and Nikki Brown each had nine rebounds.
