Last’s season champion: Belfast

Teams/players to watch: Belfast, Morse

Outlook: The Lions are the three-time defending Class B state champions. Belfast is led by the versatile Matt Hurley, top-notch breaststroker Chris Abbott, and Jono Holmes, the top Class B diver in the state who can score in swimming events as well. Morse will bring a strong contingent, including Blaine Trafton, Luke Trafton, Spencer Hallowell, and Colin Flaherty. Camden Hills’ Sam Grinnell is one of the state’s top Class B swimmers.

Notes: Admission to all events is $3 for adults, $2 for students. The meet will be run with several heats of each event and the top 12 overall will score.

GIRLS SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Time, site: diving: Thursday, 8 p.m., Bowdoin College; swimming: Saturday, 9 a.m., Bath YMCA

Teams competing: Belfast, Camden Hills, Erskine, Skowhegan, Waterville, Cony, Messalonskee, Boothbay, Wiscasset, Lincoln Academy, Gardiner, Mount Ararat, Morse, Brunswick, Winslow

Last’s season champion: Morse

Teams to watch: Morse, Messalonskee, Belfast, Brunswick

Outlook: The Shipbuilders return several of their stars, including Swimmer of the Meet Jenny Kingsbury. Brunswick, the third-place team last year, counters with Lyndsey Fish, Lauren Lemieux, Abbie King, and Caitlin Anton, and the Dragons have a solid diver in Kelsey Lamden. Messalonskee has a strong crew headed up by Lauren Viles and Alyson Wintle. Belfast’s Camilla Roe is one of the best sprint freestylers in Class B. The Lions also have divers in Kat Berger and Rene White.
