MONSON – A local man never recovered from the injuries he received when he was struck by a motor vehicle Jan. 19 in Monson.
Albert Wheaton, 51, died Feb. 4 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Wheaton received massive head injuries when he was struck by a motor vehicle driven by Konrad Thornley, 21, of Monson. The accident occurred as Wheaton was walking home from a local store.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Crosby and Neal Funeral Home in Guilford.
Investigator Jamie Kane of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation into the accident is on hold pending the results of blood tests taken from Thornley.
Correction: A story in the State section of Thursday’s editions contained incorrect information about the funeral of Albert Wheaton of Monson. Wheaton’s funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crosby and Neal Funeral Home in Guilford.
