Croce foul shots, Neville steal lift ‘Jammers to win

ROCKPORT – Marianne Croce hit two free throws with 14 seconds left in the game and Claire Neville made a game-saving steal to end it as Camden Hills hung on for a 37-34 schoolgirl basketball victory over Belfast Thursday night.

Croce led Camden Hills with 13 points and Stephanie McIntyre added 11. Neville finished with eight rebounds and Samantha Wiley had five steals.

Danielle Mayer scored 11 points for Belfast.

At Bangor, Mitch Sawyer’s goal off a Seth Gabarro assist with 4:03 left in overtime gave the Foxcroft Academy Ponies the win.

Sawyer had two goals while Gabarro had three assists. Adam Conway had a goal and an assist for the 3-12 Ponies. Ryan McNulty and Derek Smith each scored a goal. Dan Perkins made 25 saves on 29 shots.

At Bangor, Matt Holmes, Kyle Maynard and Zac Greenier had a goal each for the Crusaders in the win.

Dave Sawyer dished out an assist for John Bapst and Dan Leighton had 35 saves on 36 shots.

Dave Marley notched an unassisted goal for the Indians. J.P. Stowe racked up 40 saves against 43 shots.

At Bucksport, Adam Sheehan poured in 21 points to lead the Golden Bucks to the upset win.
