BANGOR – Alex Means poured in a game-high 28 points Thursday to power the John Bapst Crusaders to a 56-44 schoolboy basketball victory over the Presque Isle Wildcats at the Bangor Auditorium.
Sean Snyder scored 12 points and Dan Myerowitz grabbed 11 rebounds for John Bapst.
Kyle Rideout netted 11 points for Presque Isle, which was without ill senior standout Fred Bird.

At Bangor, Mitch Sawyer’s goal off a Seth Gabarro assist with 4:03 left in overtime gave the Foxcroft Academy Ponies the win.
Sawyer had two goals while Gabarro had three assists. Adam Conway had a goal and an assist for the 3-12 Ponies. Ryan McNulty and Derek Smith each scored a goal. Dan Perkins made 25 saves on 29 shots.
For the 5-11 Red Riots, Dylan Huckestein had three goals and an assist. Tom Smyth scored a goal and John Tuell made two assists. Anthony Hegstrom made 43 saves on 48 shots.
