Taylor’s 3 goals helps Hampden

BREWER – At T.J. Ryan Arena, Greg Taylor scored three goals and had two assists to help power 12-3 Hampden Academy past Messalonskee of Oakland 8-3 in Saturday hockey action.

Adam Standley added two goals and three assists while Mike Brown had two goals and an assist. Steve Boutin recorded a goal and three assists while Kevin Brooks, Chris Standley and Ian Lee each tallied assists. Rory Woods made 15 saves on 18 shots for the Broncos.

Brayden Shieves, Nick Perry and Brian Preljovisk each scored a goal for 2-12 Messalonskee while Ben Conti faced 45 shots and made 37 saves.

Brewer 4, Skowhegan 2

At Sukee Arena in Winslow, brothers Jake and Jeremiah Richter each scored two goals to lead the 15-2 Witches.

Josh Kochis, Ben Caldwell, Robbie Hayes and Wally Tardiff each contributed an assist. Spencer Dunbar stopped 28 of 30 shots.

Ian Downing and Nate Gagne scored one goal apiece for the 8-8 Indians. Tom Hopkins made 30 saves on 34 shots.

Boys Basketball

Nokomis 72, Old Town 57

At Newport, Ryan McLellan netted 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to help lead the Warriors to the win.

Luke Hayden added 25 points and eight rebounds while David Buzanoski helped out with seven points and 10 rebounds.
