Kevin Reed of the University of Maine men’s basketball team has been named America East c0-rookie of the week. Reed averaged 14.5 points per game and made seven threes in a 2-0 week. Reed shared the honor with Northeastern’s Jose Juan Barea. Reed has won the award twice while this is Barea’s fifth time this season.

Bob Deetjen

Bob Deetjen of the University of Maine at Farmington has been selected as the Webber Energy player of the week. Deetjen, a sophomore forward, averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds in the week.

Trafton Teague

Trafton Teague of the UM-Farmington men’s basketball team has been chosen as the Webber Energy rookie of the week. Teague scored 27 points in a game against Thomas.

Gill Guest

Gill Guest, a junior on the University of Maine at Machias women’s basketball team has been selected as a Webber Energy co-player of the week. Guest averaged 18 points and 16 rebounds in a 2-1 week.

Hollie Gracie

Hollie Gracie of Husson College has been named the Webber Energy rookie of the week. Gracie averaged 18 points and four steals per game during the week.

Sarah Walsh

Sarah Walsh of the Colby College has been chosen as the New England Small College Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week. Walsh, a senior center, became Colby all-time leading rebounder while averaging 18.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3 steals and 1.3 blocked shots per game in a three-game week. She has a total of 967 rebounds in her career.

Melissa Heon

Melissa Heon, a junior guard for the University of Maine, has been named the Wilson America East player of the week. Heon hit every shot attempt she made, making 7 of 7 field goals and 4 of 4 free throws on Saturday for a season-high 22 points.
