Josh Greenlaw of Windham threw 33 strikes out of a possible 36 in leading the Focused Five bowling team to a new 10-pin state record series of 3,621 at the Greater Portland City Championships at Yankee Lanes last Saturday.

Greenlaw missed the state’s three-game series record by one pin with an 846 series. Greenlaw threw games of 300, 290 and 256.

In addition to Greenlaw, Eric Leduc of Portland, Joe Slowinski of Vinalhaven, Casco’s Mike Wells and Kevin Tedford of Westbrook make up Focused Five.

The team’s series record broke the old record of 3,603 set at the 2002 Maine State Tournament in Augusta. Focused Five threw 125 strikes and had an average of 242 per man.
