BANGOR – Kyle Bradford poured in 29 points, nine of which came in the fourth quarter, as Calvary Chapel Christian rallied from a eight-point fourth-quarter deficit Thursday and posted a 57-48 overtime victory over Shead of Eastport in an Eastern Maine Class D preliminary game at Johnston Gym.

The second-seeded Sabers of Orrington earned a trip to the Bangor Auditorium in their first season as a varsity program.

After Kyle Bradford fouled out late in regulation, brother Kyle stepped up, scoring 10 of his 13 points in the overtime, during which the Sabers outscored Machias 17-8. Tyler Gans hit seven clutch free throws in the extra session to seal the win. He finished with 13 points.

Chris Correll led the way for the Bulldogs with a game-high 26 points.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Dave Sawyer scored two goals to lead the Crusaders past the Ponies.

J.P. Liebfarth added a goal and Matt Holmes had two assists and Zac Grenier also had an assist for 6-13 John Bapst. Jamie Hardy and Dan Leighton combined to make 32 saves on 35 shots.

Derek Smith and Seth Gabarro scored goals while Adam Conway and Mike Freese had assists for 3-14 Foxcroft Academy. Dan Perkins turned away 35 shots on 38 shots.
