Pat Halligan of Falmouth High School and Kim Alexander of Greely in Cumberland Center have been named the Gatorade state high school soccer players of the year.

Halligan scored 21 goals and 10 assists including the winning goal for the Yachtsmen in their 2-1 win over Winslow for the Class B boys state championship.

Alexander scored 18 goals and had 14 assists. The senior scored seven winning goals for the Rangers, including game-winners in the Western Maine Class A girls semifinals, finals and the state championship games.
