KENNEBUNK – A Massachusetts man was killed Saturday evening in a single-vehicle crash on the Maine Turnpike.

Jeffrey Olson, 34, of Lynn, Mass., was traveling south when he apparently lost control of the sport utility vehicle just south of the Kennebunk service plaza, according to Trooper Ronald Brooks of the Maine State Police.

The Honda CR-V hit the guardrail and a snowbank on the left side of the highway, then hit the guardrail and a snowbank of the right side of the turnpike, Brooks said.

The vehicle flipped over several times before coming to rest, Brooks said, and Olson, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Neither speed nor road conditions appear to be factors, Brooks said. The crash remains under investigation.
