AUGUSTA – Chris Bearor scored the game-winning goal off of a Kevin Brooks assist almost four minutes into overtime to give Hampden Academy a 4-3 hockey win over Winthrop/Hall-Dale at Kennebec Ice Arena Monday.

Greg Taylor netted two goals for the Broncos and Adam Standley had a goal with one assist. Steve Boutin and Ian Lee each had an assist. Garrett Macgowan made 16 saves on 19 shots for 16-3 Hampden.

Adam Beal and Ben Tendseay both had a goal and an assist for Hall-Dale/Winthrop. Sam Frost scored a goal as Nate Frenchette and Shawn Feeney both had an assist. Brandon Ellis stopped 18 of 22 shots for 10-9 Hall-Dale/Winthrop.

Presque Isle 7, Stearns 2

At Miller Ice Arena in Houlton, Trevor Graves scored two goals and had one assist to put the Wildcats past the Stearns Minutemen of Millinocket.

Ryan Cyr, Joe Collins, and Benji Lynch each scored one goal with one assist for Presque Isle. Sam Shaw and Ben Sirois both had one goal and Tom Greg had one assist. Sean Daigle made seven saves on nine shots for 14-3 Presque Isle.

Tyler Pelkey scored both of Stearns’ goals as Drew Somers had two assists and Shawn McVey had one assist. Nick Simon stopped 35 of 42 shots for 6-12 Stearns.

Class A girls basketball

Bangor 39, John Bapst 36, (OT)

At Bangor, Caroline Waymouth made two free-throws and Ilyse Angst netted one to put Bangor on top of John Bapst in overtime.

Waymouth scored 20 points with 10 rebounds for Bangor.

Katie Andrle netted 14 points for John Bapst of Bangor and Stacy Allen added 10 points.

Corey Smith netted 22 points for Old Orchard Beach and Joe Reardon added seven.
