ORONO – Amy Goodman, an award-winning reporter and host of “Democracy Now,” a noncommercial alternative radio news program, will speak about free speech and independent media in a time of war at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the University of Maine, Donald P. Corbett Business Building Room 100.

The free lecture is open to the public and is being sponsored by the university’s Maine Peace Action Committee, the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine, and WERU radio. Several organizations will display information about alternative media and peace campaigns in Maine at 6 p.m. in the lobby of DPC Business Building.
