My husband and I retired and moved to Eddington in 2001 to be closer to family and because of the lower cost of living, hoping to survive on a fixed income. We have raised four children, all educated in public schools and doing well, and we are proud of their success. Our grandson attends Brewer High School, by choice, and we are impressed with his education and the excellent sports program there.

I don’t believe SAD 63 owes a private, John Bapst Memorial High School education on the backs of its retired citizens. During these bad economic times, it’s hard enough to make ends meet. If the parents of SAD 63 choose private school, let them pay the difference. They are young, able to work and not choosing between food, fuel and health care.
