Woman charged with theft of men’s wallets

A Bangor woman allegedly picked a few men’s pockets while she danced with them at a club in Orono early Sunday.

Kristi Hill, 20, was summoned for theft after she allegedly stole at least four wallets and more than $10 in cash while dancing at Ushuaia on Park Street, the report said.

One of the men whom Hill reportedly had robbed chased her, and she ran right into Ryan Gilbert, one of the club’s bouncers.

At about 2 a.m. Officer Willy King received a call concerning the theft and arrived to find Hill in Gilbert’s custody.

Hill was in possession of one of the wallets when she was caught, and apparently had left three other empty wallets on the dance floor, King said.

A Bangor man told police he was going to kill one of his neighbors Sunday evening.

Officers Dan Herrick, Kevin MacLaren and Brandon Vafiades responded to a report of a domestic fight at about 6:30 p.m. When they arrived at the Second Street apartment, both adult residents denied that there was any problem.

The officers gave Kenneth Ewing, 20, a disorderly conduct warning and then waited in the hallway.

Officer Herrick allegedly heard Ewing inside the apartment saying, “I’m going to kill whoever called the cops. I want to know who called; they are dead.”

Ewing then came out of the apartment and went to another apartment downstairs, Herrick said. Ewing spoke to his neighbor, who said he had called the police about the fight. Herrick told Ewing to go back to his apartment and not to threaten or harass his neighbors.

As Ewing was going back upstairs, he allegedly said, “I’m going to cap them,” while he imitated pistols with his hands and made the sound of gunfire.

Herrick asked Ewing if by “cap” he meant he was going to kill them, and Ewing allegedly said he did.

Herrick arrested Ewing, who did not resist, and charged him with terrorizing.

While they were at Penobscot County Jail, Herrick allegedly overheard Ewing tell somebody on the telephone that if he had a gun he would kill him for calling the police.

Millinocket police arrested a man for outstanding warrants after a drunken commotion Sunday evening.

A Penobscot Avenue resident called police at about 6 p.m. saying that a group of intoxicated people were banging and kicking his door and trying to get in, and that they had broken a window in the process.

Sgt. Donald Bolduc and Officer Ron McCarthy arrived at the scene to find that the troublemakers were gone, Bolduc said. The resident, who was a minor, identified them as Derek Oclaire, 22, of Old Town and Dana Pelletier, 18, of Millinocket. There were also some minors with them. According to the complainant, they had wanted to get in so they could party, Bolduc said.

The officers found Pelletier a few streets away and summoned him for disorderly conduct and possession of alcohol by consumption, Bolduc said.

They found Oclaire a few hours later at a trailer park. Oclaire’s hand was bloody from breaking the window, Bolduc said. McCarthy summoned Oclaire for criminal mischief.

There were already two outstanding warrants on Oclaire. The officers arrested him on those charges and took him to Penobscot County Jail, Bolduc said. Other charges may be pending.
