CALAIS – In the mood to order a police officer around? On Friday, Calais police and dispatchers will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Calais Motor Inn to raise money for the eighth-grade class trip.

The 47 pupils hope to raise enough money to go to New York.

“We are going to be doing Tip-a-Cop,” Chief Michael Milburn said. Not only will the law enforcement officials wait on tables, they also will escort people to their tables.

The Calais Police Department has raised more than $500 for various fund-raisers by waiting tables.

“If any person or group would like a specific cop or dispatcher to wait on them, they can call the Motor Inn in advance and make reservations, and they will make sure that person is available,” Milburn said.

Call the motor inn at 454-7111 for more information.
