Michael D. Stang of Holden has been named operations manager of Eastern Paper’s coated products division, which is based at the company’s mill in Brewer. Stang is a veteran paper manufacturing executive who joins Eastern Paper from Wausau Mosinee’s Otis mill, where he was technical manager. Before that he worked in various engineering and operations capacities for firms including James River Co. and Polaroid Corp. The coated products division has more than 100 employees and develops custom silicone-coated release liners for specialty labels used by the U.S. Postal Service, Ford Motor Co., Whirlpool Corp. and Toro, among many others.

Paul E. Tormey of Orrington has been named an assistant vice president in the cash management department at Peoples Heritage Bank in Bangor. He will continue to assist corporate clients in treasury management and commercial banking at 77 Exchange St. Tormey joined Peoples in 1996. He previously served as a cash management officer, mortgage originator and branch manager. He is a 1989 graduate of the University of Hartford in Hartford, Conn.

Patrick S. Jones has joined Know Technology in Camden as director of business development. His responsibilities include sales management, alliance management, marketing and overall corporate development activities for the 4-year-old company, which provides networking, Web design and Web hosting services for businesses and institutions throughout New England. Before joining Know Technology, Jones was a senior vice president at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., a private bank based in New York City.

Camden National Corp. has promoted Kathryn M. Ryder of Rockport to vice president of treasury and planning and Scott R. Westhrin of Bangor to vice president of operations and technology. In the newly created position, Ryder will be responsible for treasury and financial planning for the corporation and its subsidiary banks, Camden National Bank and UnitedKingfield Bank. Ryder joined Camden National’s accounting department in 1993 and has been promoted several times since then, including assistant vice president-asset liability manager in 2001. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine. Westhrin will be responsible for all operations and technology at Camden National Corp. overseeing loan servicing, deposit servicing, electronic banking, items processing and information technology. Before joining Camden National as a loan servicing manager in 2001, Westhrin spent 18 years at Bangor Savings Bank where his last position was as loan servicing manager. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Husson College in Bangor.
