ORONO – Well-known local bluesman Mark “Guitar” Miller will be putting on two free concerts this Friday.

The first will be a recording session for a live album. The show will be held 3-5 p.m. at Minsky Recital Hall at the University of Maine in Orono. The students in the university’s audio engineering class, taught by Mark Wellman, will be recording the show, featuring Miller, keyboardist Robyn Worthley, drummer Lance Burpee and bassist Krister Rollins. The session is open to the public.

The second will start at 9:45 p.m. at the Chocolate Grille in Old Town. Wellman approached owner George Gervais, himself a guitarist with a number of groups, who agreed to hire Miller’s band for the evening. Those seeking reservations should call the Grille at 827-8971.
