Presque Isle tops Mt. Blue in ‘A’ prelim

FARMINGTON – The ninth-seeded Presque Isle Wildcats made 13 of their last 15 free throw attempts Wednesday night while earning a 49-38 victory over No. 8 Mt. Blue in an Eastern Maine Class A basketball preliminary.

Presque Isle will play top-seeded Brunswick Saturday afternoon in a 3:35 quarterfinal at the Bangor Auditorium.

Kyle Rideout topped the Wildcats with 12 points. Kyle James had 13 points, while Ben Deschene finished with eight points, including Presque Isle’s first seven points of the fourth quarter.

Brian Wells had seven points for the Cougars.
