Saddam sends thanks

I’ll wager the average citizen is not even aware of the Peace & Justice Center in Bangor that coordinated the local and state anti-war demonstrations last month. It has affected this country’s foreign policy in the worst way.

Saddam Hussein has thanked these people for their support and activities against the president and the United States. They have helped crystallize public opinion against our president and our government. Peace activists have obtained funding and organized on an international scale with an active Web site, designated www.unitedforpeace.org.

They are seeking donations from people with credit cards from nearly every country in the world. They’ve left out Iraq and Iran. But with a credit-card donation, one’s country of residence isn’t needed. Any foreign agent can make a secure donation from anywhere in the world, over the Internet. In the wrong hands, the Internet becomes a terrible weapon.
