PITTSFIELD – Pittsfield police are investigating a break-in at Pittsfield Redemption Center that occurred early Thursday morning.

Pittsfield police Officer Rodney Minoty said someone kicked in a board covering an unused window located behind outside soda machines. More than $1,000 in items were taken, including 30 to 40 cartons of cigarettes and six to 10 cases of beer.

Once inside, Minoty said, the thieves broke a side garage door where he said they may have loaded the loot into a waiting vehicle.

The Pittsfield Redemption Center is owned by Sarah and David Mitchell.
