Old Town police summoned a Bangor woman for drug possession Friday morning.
Just after 9:30 a.m., Officer Bob Pelletier pulled over a speeding car on Veazie Street. Pelletier said he smelled marijuana when Karen Sprague, 38, rolled down the car window.
Sprague denied having anything illegal, but a search revealed a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in her jacket pocket and evidence of two others in the vehicle’s drink holder, Pelletier said.
Detective Mike Holmes assisted during the search.
Sprague explained that her daughter often borrows her coat, Pelletier said.
Pelletier summoned Sprague for speeding and for civil possession of marijuana.
Brewer police arrested a Massachusetts man for operating while under the influence early Friday morning.
Officer John Knapp saw a car make a U-turn on Wilson Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. He radioed Officer Rodney Gerald, who followed the car.
Gerald said he saw the car driving erratically and speeding.
Gerald pulled the car over. The driver, Dean Cooper, 45, of Milford, Mass., had glassy eyes and slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol, the officer said.
Cooper admitted to drinking, Gerald said. He completed all of the field sobriety exercises, but did poorly.
Gerald arrested Cooper for OUI and took him to Penobscot County Jail.
