FORT KENT – Registered nurse Cindy Jandreau has been promoted to the position of nurse manager for the medical-surgical ambulatory care units at Northern Maine Medical Center, according to NMMC Director of Nurses Joanne Fortin.

A native of St. Francis, Jandreau received her nursing diploma from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland in 1980 and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Fort Kent in 1986.

Jandreau began her nursing career at NMMC as a critical care nurse in the special care unit. She later advanced to the position of charge nurse and relief supervisor. In 1973, she joined the staff of Visiting Nurses of Aroostook as a community health nurse. She rejoined the NMMC nursing staff in 1999.

Jandreau is a certified instructor in CPR, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric life support and trauma nurse corps care.
