2003 Blossom princess hails from Limestone

LIMESTONE – Elizabeth Edgecomb of Limestone has been selected as Maine’s Cherry Blossom Princess for the 2003 National Cherry Blossom Festival to be held March 30-April 5 in Washington, D.C.

Edgecomb is the daughter of Dianne and Robert Edgecomb and is the third Maine representative from Limestone. Her aunt, Carolyn Edgecomb Aldwell, was Maine’s 1975 princess.

Edgecomb was the 2000 Potato Blossom Festival Queen, during which time she worked with the Maine Potato Board representing the industry before Maine’s Legislature and at events throughout the state.

Edgecomb, a graduate of Limestone Community High School, now attends the University of Southern Maine. The junior music education major is a member of the USM Concert Band and Chorale and USM Chamber Singers.
