ROCKLAND – Bay Chamber Concerts is offering a spring trip to the see the Boston Symphony Orchestra perform Friday, March 28. A private bus will leave the parking lot at Wal-Mart in Rockland by 7:30 a.m. Passengers will enjoy a box lunch en route provided by the Brown Bag Restaurant.
The theme of the matinee concert is inspired by the Impressionist period and will feature “Violin Concerto No. 1” by Karol Szymanowski. German violinist Christian Tetzlaff is soloist under the baton of Italian conductor Fabio Luisi.
On the return trip, the bus will stop for a dinner buffet in Portland and will arrive back in Rockland at approximately 9:30 p.m. The cost is $110 and includes transportation and two meals.
An additional pickup point will be offered for residents south of Rockland at the Round Top Center for the Arts parking lot in Waldoboro. Request for such a pickup must be made at reservation time.
