BELFAST – The seventh annual Midcoast Home-Based Business Conference will be held April 11-12 at the Troy Howard Middle School and the University of Maine Hutchinson Center.
The conference is sponsored by the Bangor Daily News, the Hutchinson Center, Waldo County Cooperative Extension and WERU-FM.
In addition to the nearly 30 workshops, there will be a business-to-business trade show on April 12, at the Troy Howard Middle School.
The two-day conference will begin April 11 at the Hutchinson Center on Route 3. The topics for the evening will focus on making technology work for business people.
Conference attendees will be able to do some hands-on workshops on topics such as Web site basics, Quickbooks basics, ergonomics and selling in cyberspace. Attendees can sign up for one-on-one counseling for their technology questions. Questions must be submitted by April 1 so conference planners have time to prepare answers.
Saturday’s sessions will be held at both the middle school and the Hutchinson Center. Workshops will include inventory control, advanced Quickbooks, insurance options, billing insurance and eBay sales, basic bookkeeping, pricing the service business, writing a mission statement and reading financial statements.
