ELLSWORTH – The Maine Lobstermen’s Association will hold a directors meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Ellsworth Public Library.

Representatives from the National Marine Fisheries Service will be available to answer questions regarding proposed changes to the whale plan.

Methods are being considered to further reduce the conflict between fishing gear and whales, which are listed as endangered species. Several proposals are on the table, including a ban of the use of poly rope for ground lines. MLA members, fishermen and the public are encouraged to attend.

For information call Patrice Farrey, MLA executive director, at 351-1676.
