ROCKLAND – Country music star Lee Ann Womack will headline the entertainment for the 56th Maine Lobster Festival, which will run from July 30 through Aug. 3, organizers announced Friday.

Womack is the Country Music Association female vocalist of the year, riding the wave of her hit “I Hope You Dance” and a long string of other awards.

Dana Start, festival vice president, said Friday that more entertainers will be announced in coming weeks.

Tickets go on sale June 9 at area outlets, which will include Good Impressions and Fuller AutoMall in Rockland and Harbor Audio-Video in Camden.
