“Compassion, but not support for the troops,” by Robert Klose (BDN op-ed, March 22-23), tells it like it is for many of us. With a U.S. military budget 250 times that of Iraq’s, this pre-emptive “war” is more like shooting ducks in a barrel – mama and baby ducks included.

A direct quotation from an Iraqi woman experiencing a blitz on Baghdad was, “We are being terrorized.” We are sorry that U.S. troops have been put in this role. We grieve for them and all people in Iraq. We grieve for America and for the world.
