GREENVILLE – The school committee last week approved a three-year contract with the Greenville Education Association.

The contract calls for a 2.5 percent pay increase for 2002-03, and a 3 percent increase in each of the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years.

“I think it’s fair for all parties,” Greenville Superintendent Steve Pound said of the contract. He said the district, which settled a three-year contract with its support staff earlier this year, is now grievance-free.

Pound said everyone employed by the district recognizes that they need to work together to ensure that the Greenville schools meet challenges and continue to excel. The lines of communication are now open, he said.
