Bangor’s Shawn Morrison rolled a three-string candlepin bowling series of 477 in league play Monday night at Bangor-Brewer Lanes.

Morrison’s strings were 156, 149, and 168. Morrison bowled double strikes in each of the three strings and followed double strikes with four straight spares in the second string.

Morrison’s 168 in the third string came after sitting at 61 with a spare at the midway point of the string.

The state three-string record is 502, held jointly by Tim Matero of Rockport and Herbie Myers of Orono.

Chris Sargent of Haverill, Mass., owns the world mark of 530.
