BELFAST – The Belfast Maskers is offering for the first time a summer theater day camp for boys and girls 7-14 in two 2-week sessions in July and August at its downtown waterfront theater.

Each session will include workshops in movement, dance, set design, lighting design, makeup, acting, voice and diction, and will culminate in a performance of “The Sea Sprite,” a half-hour musical.

The sessions run July 7-17, and Aug. 4-14, with classes scheduled 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday, including a snack time.

Aynne Ames, founder and director of the Cold Comfort Theater Camp in Castine for 14 years, will conduct the day camp.

The fee for the two-week session is $450. Family rates are available as well as some scholarship aid, from the Heron Fund of the Maine Community Theater Camp.
