Wrapped in the flag and their constitutional rights of free speech and peaceable assembly, anti-war demonstrators are marching to discredit the president of the United States. It’s impeachment in the streets.
These political demonstrator-activists claim they support our troops, but not their commander in chief. Their anti-war parades and protests give aid and comfort to the enemy and to other anti-American countries. Pervasive media coverage of the anti-war demonstrations exaggerates their influence on public policy while undermining the morale of our troops at the front.
Congress has delegated war powers to the president who, as military commander in chief, exercises those powers as an instrument of American foreign policy to protect our national interests and to defend our country, as required by law. The United States is a republic, governed by law and a constitutional process of elected ruling authority, not by mobs in the streets.
Support our troops and their commander in chief.
