ORRINGTON – A predawn fire of undetermined origin destroyed a two-story home at 19 Johnson Mill Road in Orrington on Tuesday. No serious injuries were reported, though owner and sole occupant Gail Gordon received bumps and bruises as she left the burning building, according to authorities.

Gordon was reported to be staying with family members Tuesday. She did not require medical attention.

According to Lt. Scott Stewart of the Orrington Volunteer Fire Department, the fire was called in at about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday. By the time firefighters reached the building, flames were shooting out of its front section. Within minutes, firefighters saw flames go through the roof in the rear section of the house, and the front section collapsed.

Two horses housed in a nearby garage converted to a stable were unharmed.
