An early morning tussle led to charges against two men last week in Veazie.

At about 4 a.m. Thursday, 18-year-old Timothy Mushero of Old Town flagged down Veazie police Officers Ryan Welch and Todd Jamison and said he was assaulted by 25-year-old Jason Bouchard at Greystone Trailer Park.

Mushero said he was retrieving some of his things from the home of Bouchard’s ex-girlfriend when Bouchard drove up. Mushero told Welch he ran into the bathroom to hide, but Bouchard found and assaulted him, Welch said.

Mushero had a bail condition forbidding him contact with the woman, but said he thought she wouldn’t be there. The woman, who arrived at the trailer at the same time as Bouchard, suffered what she described as a use of force while trying to pull Bouchard away from Mushero, but was not struck, Welch said.

State Trooper Darren Vittum arrested Bouchard for the assault on the woman; Welch summoned him for the assault on Mushero, and summoned Mushero for violation of bail.

A new Wal-Mart site in Brewer was vandalized Saturday morning.

Brewer police Sgt. Perry Antone said he went to the site on Wilson Street at about 8:30 a.m.

Antone said someone had spray-painted the word “Demons” on a wall, along with other designs.

There are no leads at this point, but Brewer police are increasing patrols of the area.

Damage was estimated at $25.

Orono police arrested a Milford man at a convenience store for operating under the influence Saturday morning.

Officer Scott Lajoie was refueling his cruiser at the Big Apple store on Main Street at about 2:30 a.m. when he saw a man drive up, and stumble out of his car and into the store.

Lajoie said he watched the man sway as he walked around inside.

When 21-year-old Garett Hayman left the store, Lajoie stopped him and administered field sobriety tests. Lajoie said Hayman did not do well on the tests. Hayman said he had had four drinks and was not in a good condition to drive.

Lajoie arrested Hayman.

Lajoie said Hayman refused the Intoxilyzer test and would not sign his summons.

Bangor police arrested a woman Saturday morning after giving her a disorderly conduct warning an hour earlier.

At about 5 a.m., Officers Wade Betters and Josh Ouellette returned to the Second Street apartment of 29-year-old Roxanne Lewis after a second noise complaint.

Betters said that when he announced his presence he heard Lewis tell several others, “They’re going to take me to jail; you guys need to get out of here.” Betters said he then heard people running out the back door.

Betters said Lewis explained that the noise started when someone drew a knife. The officer arrested Lewis for disorderly conduct.
