PRESQUE ISLE – The Brain Injury Association of Maine, in conjunction with The Aroostook Medical Center and the University of Maine at Presque Isle, will hold a presentation for families, friends and patients on the medical, physical and emotional effects of a brain injury on the patient and family at 1-3 p.m. Monday, May 5, at the UMPI Campus Center in the Allagash Room.
Nancy Findlan, BIAM executive director, will present the film “Faces of Brain Injury” and discuss how the BIAM supports patients and families. Carrie Worthley of Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center will discuss CARF accreditation for neuro-rehabilitation programs and Medicaid requirements for those programs. Family members of brain-injured patients will provide firsthand accounts of their handling of an injury.
